HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing - International Students
Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of an enrolled nurse working under supervision of a registered nurse. This qualification covers the application of skills and knowledge required to provide nursing care for people across the health sector. A lifespan approach should underpin this qualification with relevant competencies that relate to the different stages of life identified within the units.
A graduate from a Diploma of Nursing program approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) can apply for registration with the NMBA as an enrolled nurse. Further information on registration is available at www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au
Entry Requirements
International applicants must be 18 years or older and have:
- Year 11 or equivalent certificate of senior secondary education
- IELTS Academic (or equivalent) score of 7.0 with no band score less than 7.0
Notes:
1. The IELTS test results can be
- In one test sitting; or
- A maximum of two test sittings within a six-month period only if:
- Applicants achieved a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 in each sitting; and
- Applicants achieved a minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 in each component across two test sittings; and
- no band score less than 6.5 (or equivalent).

To be eligible to register as an Enrolled Nurse, applicants must provide evidence to the Nurses and Midwifery Board Australia to show that they have achieved an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking which has been achieved in one sitting and is no more than 2 years old. Structure
- Face to face on campus training, 9.00am – 4.00pm.
- 3 days per week for 18 months (6 terms at CBD only)

The Diploma of Nursing consists of 25 units, 20 core units and 5 electives.

Fees
Tuition Fee for the course is $30000.
Administration (Non-refundable): $300
Confirmation of Enrolment (Non-refundable): $40 for a course longer than 12 months
Textbooks: Approximately $627
Uniform: $26.50 each (Two uniforms are required)

Placement
- Students are required to attend a minimum of 400 hours of practical placement throughout the program. Placement is mandatory and is conducted in 5 days a week over 10 college weeks spread throughout the course.
