Course Description

The Skills Training Australia Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT33115) qualifies you to provide assistance to health professionals with services to clients and patients. While you won’t be delivering direct care to clients, a Health Services Assistance role will see you being in direct client contact. You will be qualified to undertake positions such as assistant in nursing, nursing support worker, patient service attendant and orderly.

Entry Requirements

There are no prior qualifications or employment requirements to gain entry into the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.

International applicants must be 18 years or older and have:

  • Year 11 or equivalent certificate of senior secondary education
  • IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no band score less than 5.5. If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course can be organised

Note: To be eligible to continue to the Diploma of Nursing, applicants must show that they have achieved an IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking by the end of the Certificate III level.

Structure

  • Face to face classes
  • 3 days per week over 27 college weeks
  • 40 placement hours per week over 3 college weeks

The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance consists of 15 units, which are delivered over 3 terms.

BSBWOR301 Organise personal work priorities and development
CHCCCS002 Assist with movement
CHCCCS020 Respond effectively to behaviours of concern
CHCCCS026 Transport individuals
CHCCCS010 Maintain a high standard of service
HLTAIN001 Assist with nursing care in an acute care environment
HLTAIN002 Provide non-client contact support in an acute care environment
HLTAID003 Provide first aid
CHCCCS012 Prepare and maintain beds

Fees

Tuition Fee for the course is $7500.

Administration (Non-refundable): $300

Confirmation of Enrolment (Non-refundable): $20 for a course no longer than 12 months

Textbooks: Approximately $200

Uniform: $26.50 each (Two uniforms are required)

Placement

  • There is a minimum of 120 hours of practical placement experience sourced and arranged for the students with the College’s placement partners. Placement is conducted in the final 3 weeks of the program.
