Course Description
The Certificate IV in Leisure & Health is your next formal qualification to deliver health improvement, leisure & activity or Diversional Therapy programs in aged care facilities, disability/community support settings. Specialist Diversional & Recreational Therapy practitioners will deliver this client-centred educational course in just 12 months. You will be trained as a leader in the delivery of engaging and truly meaningful social activities that enhance the lives of the elderly and disabled – promoting the belief that leisure and recreational experiences are the right of all individuals.
Entry Requirements
Domestic Students
There is no qualification or educational prerequisites to gain entry into the Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
- All potential students must attend a compulsory information session
- Skills Training Australia will conduct a review of your current competencies, including language, literacy and numeracy skills, in order to ensure this is the most appropriate qualification to achieve your intended outcomes
Structure
- Delivered as a face-to-face program over 12 months (4 terms).
- Study commitment of either 1 day per week at Knox (Thursday), or 1 day per week in the CBD (Friday)
- A mandatory 120 hours of clinical facility placement (3 weeks in total) must be completed at a facility of your undertaking.

Fees
Domestic Students
- Full Fee = $4,500.
- Skills First Funded Fee = $800.
- Skills First Funded Concession Fee = $160
*Skills Training Australia may use both State and Federal funding, eligibility criteria does apply

Placement
There is 120 hours placement for the Certificate IV in Leisure & Health, which undertaken in block mode, Monday – Friday.
Must be completed at a facility of your undertaking, and Skills Training Australia will assist you in assessing the suitability of your chosen placement provider.
