Course Description
The Certificate IV in Ageing Support (CHC43015) is your next formal qualification for those working in aged care as a personal care assistant who wish to further their skill set and work in a more senior role as a supervisor, or team leader. Specialist Aged Care facilitators will deliver this client-centered 12 month course. You will be trained as a leader in the delivery of care to the clients in the aged care industry.
Entry Requirements
Domestic Students
Whilst there are no prior learning or employment prerequisites to gain entry into the Certificate IV Ageing Support, Certificate III Individual Support (or equivalent) is recommended.
- All potential students must attend a compulsory information session.
- Skills Training Australia will conduct a review of your current competencies, including language, literacy and numeracy skills, in order to ensure this is the most appropriate qualification to achieve your intended outcomes
Structure
- Face to face on campus training.
- 1 day a week for 12 months (4 terms)
- On the job program or traineeship
- Minimum requirement of employment in an aged care service provider workplace is 15 hours per week
- 1 day a month for 12 months (4 terms)

Fees
Domestic Students
- Full Fee = $3,700.
- Skills First Funded Fee = $800.
- Skills First Funded Concession Fee = $160
*Skills Training Australia may use both State and Federal funding, eligibility criteria does apply. We actively encourage potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply.
Placement
- There is 120 hours placement for the Certificate IV in Ageing Support, which delivered in a single block of 3 weeks for those who do not currently work in the industry.
- All placements for Ageing Support must be sources by the student, Skills Training Australia can assist you if you cannot find a suitable placement facility.
