I have worked closely with Skills Training Australia over the past 3+ years in my capacity as Education Manager at Gold Age Australia.
They are our preferred provider for training and I have found their flexibility and responsiveness to our organizations’ training needs to be exceptional.
We have engaged Skills Training Australia in workforce planning and we host their Diploma of Nursing & Community courses students on placement.
The quality of Nursing student from Skills Training Australia in my opinion are grounded, practical and have a more solid basic knowledge with better formulated critical thinking skills.
I would not hesitate to recommend the team at Skills Training Australia as an ethical and outcome focused RTO.
Having started my diploma of nursing at another RTO I have definitely seen the difference in Skills Training Australia.
The educators here not only have a vast amounts of knowledge, but they are able to share it in a way that students are able to learn. They are supportive, and really want their students to succeed. I could not have gotten through the course without the support of Sue Nursey and the other educators.
I am now working as an Enrolled Nurse at Eastern Health, I feel that STA has given a solid foundation to develop my knowledge on and have helped me develop the skills that I need to be a good acute nurse.
STA are our primary partner for EN and Health Assistant education and training.
EH representatives meet regularly with STA management to plan and develop the partnership. Our placement coordinators liaise with clinical teachers and unit leads on a day to day basis regarding individual students or placement equirements/changes.
We have always found STA to be flexible, accommodating and willing to adapt their programs/systems to meet our requirements.
Eastern Health has recently launched an Enrolled Nurse Fellowship with STA. This offers a unique opportunity for a select number of students from each intake to be guaranteed all clinical placements at Eastern Health facilities throughout their Diploma of Nursing. These students are then given the opportunity to apply and interview for an ongoing position at Eastern Health following successful completion of their Diploma of Nursing and registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board.
