If you are interested in gaining an accreditation for two, three, or four units outside of your course of study, without having to undertake another entire qualification, skill sets may provide you with the perfect option. Through the flexibility of our training courses, you can choose up to four modules to fit the range of skills you require.
Skill sets are generally designed to benefit someone working within an industry where there is a potential knowledge gap and a crossover in skills. An example would be someone who is currently working in mental health, who holds a Certificate IV in Mental Health, and who would like to undertake an Alcohol and Other Drugs skill set. This skill set will allow for more versatility in their role, as they will have knowledge of, and the ability to work in, both sectors.
As skill sets are undertaken by people who have already completed a course in one field, they can negate the need to complete a second qualification. Undertaking a skill set is a quicker, and often more affordable, option for students wishing to gain further knowledge and experience.
Skills Training Australia can assist employers in designing organisation-specific skill sets. These can be in any area relating to the qualifications on our Scope of Registration. Some of the current skill sets we offer include:
- PCA Medications
- Dementia Care
- Mental Health
- Palliative Care
- Alcohol and Drugs
- Leisure and Health
- Ageing in the Disability Sector
- Workplace Supervision
- Leadership for new Managers
- Quality Systems in Aged Care
- Student Placement Management
- Medication Endorsement - Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 nursing)
